What it does

A stretcher that is actually with you

Most litters are designed to be carried by a team and stored somewhere else. That is fine at the aid station. It is useless at the point of injury, where the first move usually happens with whatever the rescuer is wearing.

The Pocket Litter closes that gap. It is small enough to carry every day, fast enough to use under stress, and stiff enough to protect the spine while one person drags a casualty out of danger.

It does one job: the first leg. From the injury site to the casualty collection point, the vehicle, the landing zone or the trailhead. From there, the full litter and the medical team take over.

Built for the first minutes

  • Cargo pocket sized. 6 × 9.25 × 1.75 in packed. Fits a cargo pocket, a side pouch or the outside of a pack.
  • Carry-every-day weight. 2.5 lb. Light enough that nobody leaves it behind.
  • Under 10 seconds to deploy. Out of the bag, extended and the support locked in place.
  • Real spine support. Stiffeners and a central hub stabilize the spine and torso. A tarp or drag sheet can't.
  • Dyneema® deck. The body is built from Dyneema, one of the strongest fibers for its weight.
  • Smooth underside. Slides over dirt, snow, scree, roots and stairs without snagging.
  • Reusable. Wash it, inspect the webbing, refold it, carry it again.

Carry modes

One rescuer or ten

1 rescuer

1-on-1 drag or carry

The core use. One rescuer moves the casualty out of the immediate danger area.

2 rescuers

2-person carry

Lift and carry when the ground is too rough to drag or the casualty needs to clear obstacles.

Up to 10

Team carry

Spread the load across up to ten people for a longer move to the collection point. Ten is crowded, but it works.

Watch

The 400 lb test

A casualty in full kit, strapped in, loaded to 400 lb. Watch the Pocket Litter take the weight.

Know the limits

What it is not

  • Not a self-rescue device. Someone other than the casualty has to move it.
  • Not a replacement for a full litter. It covers the first leg. Long carries go on a full litter.
  • Not for technical or vertical rescue. Rope work, raises and lowers need rated equipment.
  • Not a substitute for training. Casualty movement skills come from hands-on practice. Train with it before you need it.

Care

After every use

Wipe it down with mild soap and water and let it air dry. Inspect the webbing, straps and stiffeners for wear or damage. Refold it and put it back where you carry it.

If anything looks damaged, retire it from service and contact us.

Product FAQ

Before you buy

How big is the Pocket Litter?

Packed, it is 6 × 9.25 × 1.75 in, which fits a cargo pocket or its MOLLE carry bag. Deployed, it is 85.5 in long head to toe, 29.5 in wide at the head tapering to 19.5 in at the feet.

How much does it weigh?

2.5 lb on its own and 3 lb in the MOLLE carry bag.

How much weight can it hold?

It has been tested to 400 lb without failing. That is the maximum load tested, not a break point. The hub and webbing spread the load so a single rescuer can drag a large casualty in kit.

Can I use it to rescue myself?

No. The Pocket Litter is designed for one-to-one drags and team carries. Someone other than the casualty moves it.

What terrain can it handle?

Dirt, grass, snow, scree, roots, stairs and narrow corridors such as trenches and hallways. The smooth underside and stiffeners help it slide without snagging.

When should I use a full litter instead?

Use the Pocket Litter to get the casualty from the injury site to a casualty collection point, vehicle, landing zone or trailhead. For long-distance carries and any technical or vertical rescue, move the casualty to a full litter.

Is it single use?

No. After use, wash it with mild soap and water, air dry, inspect the webbing and refold it.

Do you sell to units, departments and agencies?

Yes. Request a quote with the quantity and timeline. We accept government purchase orders, the Government Purchase Card (GPC) and federal tax-exempt orders. There is no NSN or GSA Schedule listing yet. Authorized resellers Vitac Solutions and SupplyCore also sell it.

How much does it cost and where can I buy it?

The Pocket Litter is $540, shipping included within the continental US. Buy now with secure Stripe checkout, request an invoice or quote, or buy from an authorized reseller: Vitac Solutions, SupplyCore.

What are the shipping, return and warranty terms?

Orders ship within the continental US in 3 to 5 business days after payment, and shipping is included in the price. Unused items can be returned within 30 days of delivery; the buyer pays return shipping. Every Pocket Litter carries a 1-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Full details.

Can I see it before I buy?

Yes. Watch the demonstration videos or book a live demo call with the team.

The Pocket Litter is an extraction aid for trained responders. It does not replace medical training, medical care, a full litter or a professional rescue.
